Milamera Solutions is Craig Milam, a lead software engineer with 17 years of experience, based in Columbus, Ohio. I'm an AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate) and AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner.

I started as a developer in 2009 and have taken on more leadership over the years: mentoring engineers, guiding architecture, and staying hands-on in the code. I work directly with business stakeholders to pin down what they need, then lead the team that builds it.

Earlier in my career, I did cloud-native development and DevOps consulting at an AWS Premier Partner, and built applications and ran infrastructure for K-12 school districts. I use whatever technology actually solves the problem: full-stack web apps, cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, or legacy systems that need someone patient enough to untangle them.

I also run my own production infrastructure at home, built on the same kind of stack I set up for clients. Everything I recommend is something I rely on every day.

When you work with Milamera Solutions, you work with me directly, from the first conversation through the build and after it ships. There's no hand-off to a junior and no account manager in between. Your systems and data stay yours: everything runs on hardware or accounts you own, and it's documented well enough that another engineer could take it over.

Outside of work, my family and I are slowly building toward a life cruising on a sailboat. I also play a lot of Guitar Hero and Rock Band, on Expert.
